According to oceanographer Jennifer Verduin, the bite of a blue-ringed octopus can be fatal if the victim is not given medical attention in a timely manner. Representatives of this species have a rather aggressive character. If they are disturbed, they attack creatures of any size, including humans.
Blue-ringed octopuses bite the victim, injecting poisonous saliva into the wound. It causes paralysis, respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest due to lack of oxygen. There is no antidote that helps after the bite of blue-ringed octopuses.
Earlier it was reported that in Brazil a poisonous spider bit singer Darlin Morais. The arthropod first clung to the man’s face, and then bit his 18-year-old stepdaughter.
