Modern SSD drives can be overclocked and accelerated. This is reported by TechSpot.
Journalists of the media paid attention to the video published on the YouTube channel of Gabriel Ferraz. The user managed to overclock the frequency of his SSD, thanks to which the drive became faster, but also began to consume more electricity. Ferraza called his overclocking method a bit risky.
The blogger used a 240 gigabyte 2.5-inch SATA RZX drive based on Silicon Motion’s SM2259XT controller, which has read and write speeds of 540 and 450 megabytes per second, respectively. The author used a SATA-USB 3.0 adapter and third-party SMI Mass Production Tool software.
